Commercial Electric Conduit Installation in Wilmington, Ohio

Commercial electric conduit trenching and installation across Wilmington and Southwest Ohio. Primary service runs, secondary feeders, parking lot lighting, and utility coordination.

Electric Conduit

Trenching That Keeps
The Electrician Moving

Electrical contractors don't want to dig, and they shouldn't have to. Their time is better spent pulling wire, terminating gear, and getting the building energized. Good conduit trenching is about being invisible: the trench is there when the electrician needs it, properly bedded, at the right depth, with the conduit set right and the backfill compacted clean.

Corbett's Contracting handles commercial electric conduit trenching and installation across Wilmington and Southwest Ohio. We coordinate directly with the electrical contractor or the GC, work from the one-line and site plans, and deliver conduit runs ready for pull.

Primary service runs from utility transformers, secondary feeders, parking lot lighting homeruns, sign lighting, EV charging infrastructure — if it gets buried and it's carrying power, we trench and set the conduit.

How We Work With Electricians

Good trade coordination is what keeps commercial schedules on track. Here's how we make life easier for the electrical contractor.

Plan CoordinationWe review the one-line and site plan with the electrician before trenching to confirm routes, depths, and pull boxes.
Correct Depth24" minimum for most circuits, deeper for primary service per utility requirements. Documented by us.
Sand Bedding & Warning TapeProper bedding under conduit, warning tape above per code, full compacted backfill after.
Stubbed & CappedConduit stubs left capped at building entry, pole bases, and equipment pads — ready for the electrician's terminations.
Commercial FAQ

Questions Before You Bid It Out

Do you install conduit yourself or just trench?
Both. We trench, install the conduit (PVC, HDPE, rigid steel per spec), bed properly, and backfill. The electrician handles wire pulling, terminations, and connections.
How deep does commercial electric conduit need to be?
Minimum 24 inches for most circuits per NEC. Primary service conduits from utility transformers typically run deeper (36-48 inches) per utility company requirements. We bury to code or plan, whichever is greater.
Can you coordinate with the electrical contractor's schedule?
Yes — trade coordination is essential on commercial projects. We schedule trenching and conduit install in sync with the EC's wire-pull schedule and equipment delivery.
Do you do low-voltage and fiber trenching too?
Yes. Low-voltage, fiber, CAT6, and communications conduit trenching is standard. We run separate trenches or shared trenches with proper separation per code.
Who pulls the permit and handles utility coordination?
Permitting is typically handled by the electrical contractor or the GC. We coordinate with the utility on primary service routing and ensure trenching is ready for utility inspection before backfill.
