Commercial Excavation & Site Work in Wilmington, Ohio

Commercial excavation, grading, and site work across Wilmington and Southwest Ohio. Building pads, utility trenching, parking lot sub-base, and full commercial site development.

Site Development

Dirt Work That Sets the Whole Project Up

Commercial site work is where schedules get made or broken. A bad sub-base costs you six months of callbacks and warranty claims. A slow excavation holds up every other trade on site. Getting the dirt work right — fast, to spec, and on schedule — is what separates real commercial contractors from the weekend warriors.

Corbett's Contracting handles commercial excavation and site development across Southwest Ohio. Building pads, parking lot sub-bases, utility trenching, mass grading, retention ponds, erosion control, and full site prep for new construction and expansions.

We run our own equipment and our own operators. No rental coordination headaches, no shared-crew schedules, no subbing the work out to whoever's available that week.

Commercial FAQ

Questions Before You Bid It Out

Can you work to civil engineering plans and specs?
Yes. We regularly work from stamped civil drawings, grading plans, and utility plans. We'll review the plans at the bid stage and flag any scope clarifications needed before construction starts.
Do you handle OUPS and utility locates?
Yes — OUPS calls are standard before every excavation job. We mark utilities, protect what's in the ground, and coordinate with private utility locators when needed.
Can you coordinate with other trades on a general contractor's schedule?
Yes. On commercial projects with a GC running the schedule, we slot in as a coordinated sub. On owner-direct projects without a GC, we can help coordinate the sequence of other trades — concrete, framing, utilities, etc.
What about SWPPP and erosion control requirements?
For commercial sites requiring SWPPP (Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans), we handle erosion control install, maintenance during construction, and removal at project close. Scope goes in the bid.
Do you do commercial demo alongside excavation?
Light commercial demo — existing slabs, foundations, small structures — yes. Full structural demo of buildings is typically a specialty demo contractor's scope. We coordinate with demo contractors on mixed-scope projects.
